One Foxxy Reptile

Here is another shot of that fox snake fleeing my close-up.  This was one cool looking snake slithering through the wet prairie!

Westward Thoughts

With the largest fire in recorded history burning in the pacific northwest, I figured I would post this picture of Mt. Hood to remind everybody of the amount of forested land out west!  If only forest fire's were permitted to  run their course instead of being put out I wonder if there wouldn't be the fuel build up to propel these mighty blazes?

Not Long Ago

This is the largest prairie in Iowa at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge.  Less than 180 years ago it would of been prairie as far as the eye can see. Someday hopefully our grandkids will get a chance to experience this awesome sight, if it all doesn't go the way of the buffalo first.

Prairie Time

To me peak prairie flower season is starting.  What little of our prairies left is in prime color and insect activity.  Get out to one an enjoy!

New Nestegg

A new egg in the nest! This is amazing, I posted a photo of this nest two months before with a different egg in it.  I found little birds in it, and have no reason not to believe they chicks didn't make it.  I think a different bird now has an egg in the nest!

Foggy Earth
